A clearer disk

From clutter to context.

Sift organizes storage information around the decisions you actually need to make: what is large, what is buried, and what is truly a duplicate.

Size-sorted folders

Start with the largest subfolders and drill down one level at a time without losing your place.

Largest files first

Review every indexed file in size order and focus immediately on the biggest opportunities.

Instant name search

Find old downloads, exports, recordings, or any remembered fragment of a file name.

Verified duplicates

Candidate matches are confirmed by their contents before Sift calls them identical.

Live scan control

Follow the active path and stage, then pause, resume, or stop whenever you need to.

Recoverable cleanup

Removed items go to the Windows Recycle Bin. Sift never deletes files permanently.

How it works

Three deliberate steps.

1

Choose a folder

You decide the scope. Sift reads only the location you select.

2

Understand the space

Browse by size, search names, and inspect possible duplicate groups.

3

Clean with confidence

Keep what matters and move selected items to the Recycle Bin.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Does Sift upload my files?

No. File analysis, search data, and duplicate verification stay on your device. Sift does not upload file names or contents.

Do I need an account?

No. Sift has no account requirement and no cloud sign-in.

Does Sift scan my whole computer?

No. You choose a folder, and that selected location defines the scan scope.

How does duplicate review work?

Sift first finds candidates with matching names and sizes, then reads their contents to confirm whether they are identical.

Are removed files permanently deleted?

No. Sift sends selected files to the Windows Recycle Bin so they may still be restored.

Can I pause a long scan?

Yes. Active scans include pause, resume, and stop controls.

Where is the scan index stored?

It is stored locally on your device and can be cleared from Sift's settings without changing your files.
